James Woods advises businesses on a wide range of legal matters, from startup needs such as corporate structuring and shareholders agreements to buying or selling a business to operational needs such as employment matters. James works with his clients’ tax advisers in carrying out corporate reorganizations and is experienced in commercial lending matters, acting for banks and credit unions on the documentation of secured loans.
James also advises individuals on their estate planning needs, including the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney and representation agreements. He assists executors and administrators with probate and estate administration matters. Recently, James completed the diploma program for the Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation.
James is also experienced in commercial and residential real estate transactions. He assists buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants with purchases and sales, leasing and due diligence.
James is an active member of the community, having recently served as Chair of the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce. He spends as much of his spare time as possible trying to keep up with his three young sons.
